[2.5 Beta] Why isn't InqScribe saving to my external hard drive?

Note 1This article is specific to the InqScribe 2.5 beta for macOS. If you're not running this version of InqScribe, please disregard.

Note 2: This issue has been fixed in the recent update. To update your beta, select the "InqScribe > Check for Updates..." menu option, or download fresh from inqscribe.com/download#versions. If you continue experiencing issues after the update, please contact us at support@inqscribe.com.

We have recently received some reports that transcripts are not saving properly to external hard drives. It seems that they will initially save as expected, when you select "File > Save As...", but once you try to re-save them with "File > Save", those new changes will not be stored. We are currently working on a fix for this.

The workaround for the time being is to either:
  1. Save your transcript to your local computer hard drive (where saving works normally).
  2. Save your transcript under a new name with "Save As..." every time you save to the external hard drive.
We appreciate your patience in testing out our 2.5 beta.
